Commercial Counsel – USA Legal Job

Mural is seeking a mid-level Commercial Counsel to join its collaborative Legal Team for a remote or office-based role within the USA. Operating within a legal field that partners cross-functionally across the company, this position reports directly to the General Counsel and focuses on supporting go-to-market (GTM) and product teams through contract drafting, negotiations, and risk management.

Core Responsibilities for This Legal Role

• Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS subscription agreements, MSAs, SOWs, RFPs, and NDAs.
• Serve as the primary legal point of contact for the Sales team, partnering with Account Executives and sales leadership to structure terms and close deals.
• Collaborate with Deal Desk, Revenue Operations, and Finance on pricing, discounting, and revenue-sensitive deal terms.
• Advise on data privacy and security terms in customer agreements with the Privacy and Security teams.
• Refine contract templates, fallback positions, and negotiation playbooks while exploring AI-assisted contracting tools.
• Manage partner, reseller, vendor, and procurement agreements, alongside renewals, upsells, amendments, and post-signature questions from Customer Success.

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, a JD from an accredited law school, and an active membership in at least one U.S. state Bar in good standing. Mural requires 4+ years of experience negotiating and structuring commercial agreements, specifically focusing on SaaS or technology transactions gained in-house or at a law firm. Applicants should also bring a working knowledge of data privacy frameworks, strong business judgment, excellent communication skills for translating legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders, and familiarity with AI-assisted contracting tools.
