SOCOTEC is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in the Sacramento area. This is a senior-level engineering role focused on providing technical leadership, project oversight, and business development support for a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects.
As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority on projects ranging from small developments to large-scale infrastructure. You will be responsible for directing geotechnical investigations, performing quality reviews on reports and proposals, and providing mentorship to engineering staff. This role requires an individual who can balance high-level technical oversight with active client relationship management and strategic support for the growth of the geotechnical practice.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information to clients, contractors, and design professionals. Experience with public agencies, transportation projects, and utility clients is preferred, as is an established network within the California engineering and construction industry.
The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $200,000, depending on experience.
