Spreedly, the world's leading Open Payments Platform, is seeking a senior-level Controller for its Accounting team in the USA. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this senior leadership role involves managing the accounting function, improving the finance systems stack (including NetSuite, Orb, and Ramp), and building scalable processes and controls for a usage-based business model.
Controller Responsibilities in Accounting
- Lead the accounting function to ensure accurate books and a timely, consistent close.
- Oversee financial statements, AR, AP, payroll, revenue recognition, treasury, tax, and audit.
- Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606 for SaaS and usage-based customer contracts.
- Own the annual financial statement audit, tax compliance, and team development.
Requirements
- Active CPA certification.
- Accounting leadership and people-management experience.
- Experience owning a broad accounting function and working with SaaS accounting.
- Demonstrated success in implementing systems, process automation, and AI-enabled workflows (such as Claude or Gemini).
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, close management, and ASC 606.
- Bachelors degree required.
- 5+ years of experience.
The salary for this position is $5,000 yearly. Fintech, payments, or consumption-based business model experience is valued.
