Job Description
Become part of an important mission supporting one of the Department of Defense’s largest high-performance computing environments. In this fully remote position, you will deliver advanced technical support that helps DoD researchers and scientists access powerful supercomputing resources efficiently. An active DoD Secret Clearance is required before joining the team.
Job Responsibilities
Install, configure, and test software applications requested by users, including managing build environments, software containers, required libraries, and supporting datasets.
Build, deploy, and validate software packages using a variety of source code management and build tools on HPC platforms while working closely with System Administrators, Tier 3 engineers, or software vendors to resolve compatibility issues.
Support users by helping them compile, troubleshoot, debug, and execute their own applications across different HPC architectures and node configurations.
Evaluate existing software within the environment to determine the best solution for research needs, collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) whenever specialized applications or configurations are required.
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Concept of Operations (ConOps), and workflow documentation to streamline ticket handling between Tier 2B support, Tier 3 teams, System Administrators, and external vendors.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess an active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance before the start date. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience, a Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional expertise.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide technical assistance and collaborate effectively with both users and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience administering or supporting High Performance Computing (HPC) resource managers such as Slurm or PBS Pro.
Background supporting scientific researchers or technical computing environments.
Experience installing, configuring, or optimizing software on HPC platforms.
Knowledge of MPI (Message Passing Interface) for parallel computing applications.
Hands-on experience using software build and package management tools such as CMake or Spack.

Compensation
Salary Range: $82,550.00 – $149,225.00 per year.
Compensation will be based on factors including education, professional experience, technical expertise, job responsibilities, internal equity, market conditions, and any applicable employment agreements.
