Wheel is hiring a senior-level People Generalist for a six-month fixed-term W-2 employee role located in the USA. Reporting to the Head of People, this hands-on HR admin position offers an hourly pay rate of $50.00 to $70.00. While extension or conversion to permanent status depends on future business needs, this temporary engagement provides a broad view of the entire human resources function during a high-volume period.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end recruitment, including intake, sourcing, screening, scheduling, ATS maintenance, candidate communication, and phone screens.
• Coordinate complete onboarding processes for new hires, handling paperwork, background checks, equipment requests, and initial support.
• Conduct employee file audits against compliance checklists, verify required records like I-9s, and summarize findings.
• Develop and standardize consistent, inclusive job descriptions across departments in partnership with hiring managers.
• Handle HR administration tasks such as maintaining employee data in BambooHR, processing lifecycle transactions, supporting e-signature campaigns, and answering routine policy questions.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree along with 5 or more years of HR experience working in a generalist, recruiting, or HR operations capacity. Applicants need direct full-cycle recruiting experience, practical familiarity with ATS and HRIS platforms, exceptional attention to detail for audit work, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work self-directed without a lengthy ramp-up period.
