OpenAI is hiring a Senior Level Security Engineer for its Agent Security team in the USA. In this driving role, you will help secure cutting-edge agentic AI systems by designing robust security frameworks, building production-grade tooling, and shaping the organization's long-term agent security roadmap.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect identity, network, and runtime-level defenses such as sandboxing and policy enforcement for agentic AI.
• Build production-grade code to harden safety monitoring pipelines across large-scale agent executions.
• Collaborate daily with Agent Infrastructure, product, research, safety, and security teams.
• Shape the agent security roadmap and publish internal and external best practices.

Requirements and Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of a Primary or Matric education level alongside 5+ years of relevant experience. Candidates must possess strong software-engineering skills in Python or a systems language like Go, Rust, or C/C++, paired with deep expertise in modern isolation techniques, container security, kernel-level hardening, and hands-on network security. You should also bring cloud security depth on a major provider such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, plus strong communication skills and a bias for action in ambiguous environments. Familiarity with AI and machine learning security challenges is considered a valuable plus.
