Senior Collections Specialist in USA - Accounting Role at Happy Money
Happy Money, a 100% fully distributed consumer finance company, is seeking a Senior Collections Specialist for a full-time, hourly accounting role based in the USA. This senior-level remote position operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm PST or 9:00 am to 5:30 pm EST. In addition to the hourly pay, this position is eligible for up to $1,200 per month in performance bonus incentives.
Role Responsibilities
- Contact past due customers (1 to 120+ days past due) to facilitate resolution while negotiating payment plans, hardship plans, and settlements.
- Handle escalated calls and complex account investigations, maintain accurate customer records, and meet department performance targets.
- Support team development by providing peer feedback, assisting with onboarding, and acting as a first-line resource for workflow questions.
- Draft and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and surface process improvement ideas to the Team Lead.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in collections, customer operations, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of collections processes, strategies, and regulatory considerations.
- Strong communication, writing, typing, and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
