Hims & Hers is seeking a senior-level Director, Engineering - Commerce to join our team in the USA within the Engineering field. In this senior role, you will act as the single engineering DRI for our end-to-end commerce platform, overseeing catalog, pricing, promotions, payments, and checkout systems as we scale to serve millions of members.
Core Responsibilities for the Director, Engineering - Commerce
- Lead, coach, and inspire a team of engineers while driving the technical vision, strategy, and execution across the commerce domain.
- Drive the transition to a rich, durable catalog domain model, an AI-first engineering culture, and spec-driven development.
- Define and deliver engineering roadmaps in partnership with product and design, balancing scalability, reliability, quality, and innovation.
- Champion clear domain boundaries, moving the organization toward integration through APIs and published events rather than direct cross-domain database access.
- Oversee architecture for security, compliance, and reliability, applying strict rigor to financially sensitive payment transactions.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders across data, finance, Pharmacy, Care, and operations to optimize conversion, pricing, and checkout experiences.
- Manage organizational strategy, hiring, headcount planning, mentoring, and succession planning for engineering leaders.
