Principal Analytics Engineer in the USA
Angi is seeking a senior-level Principal Analytics Engineer for Product Analytics to join our engineering team in the USA. In this senior role, you will shape how product data is transformed and consumed, ensuring that both human analysts and AI agents receive consistent metrics, faster iteration, and trustworthy answers. Angi has spent over 30 years powering the home services industry, operating globally with 9 brands across 8 countries.
Role Responsibilities and Architecture Strategy
You will serve as connective tissue across data engineering, analytics, and product teams by architecting pipelines, semantic layers, and quality practices. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, building, and evolving high-scale dbt models that transform raw upstream inputs into clean, analytics-ready data products.
- Implementing guardrails, grain definitions, and metadata descriptions so AI tools can query data accurately without bypassing governance.
- Translating recurring analyst pain points into durable, reusable models and shared interfaces.
- Setting quality and governance standards by embedding testing, freshness expectations, and data catalogs into the development lifecycle.
- Raising the collective engineering bar through mentorship, technical reviews, and pair-programming sessions.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants for this Principal Analytics Engineer position must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- 12+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering with heavy analytics partnership, or an equivalent technical data role.
- Expert-level SQL skills and strong Python proficiency for advanced data work.
- A proven track record of delivering on a modern data stack.
The salary for this position ranges from $165,000 to $240,000.
