DuckDuckGo, the online protection company, is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join our remote-first engineering team. In this senior-level role, you will work on the Android Functional Team building secure, privacy-focused applications using Kotlin, Maestro, and Graphite. Recent projects include Privacy Pro support, autofill improvements, and phishing and malware protection.

Candidate Requirements

• 7+ years of extensive Android engineering background
• Experience working on at least two large native Android applications
• Solid programming experience in Kotlin
• Deep understanding of MV concepts, mobile threading, memory management, and complex data structures and algorithms
• Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data with cross-functional teams to develop UX solutions
• Bachelors degree required

Compensation and Logistics

The annual compensation for this position is $178,500 USD, accompanied by stock options. Compensation is transparent across the organization, with standardized pay for team members within the same professional level and global region. US-based team members are eligible for company-sponsored health benefits. The role requires an average full-time commitment of 40 hours per week with no core hours, attendance at video meetings on camera, and mandatory travel approximately twice a year for an all-hands meetup and a team retreat (around 4-5 days each).
