Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Fieldguide is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in the USA to join their remote-first engineering team. In this senior-level engineering role, you will own critical infrastructure decisions, design core platforms, and build automated tooling that helps secure trust and compliance for global commerce and capital markets.

Core Responsibilities for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer

• Design, build, and maintain core platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Monitor and improve system reliability, performance, and cost efficiency using tools such as Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Ensure infrastructure security and compliance by implementing best practices for identity management, network segmentation, and vulnerability management.
• Lead incident response, drive root cause analysis, mentor fellow engineers, and support disaster recovery planning.

Requirements and Background

Candidates must have 5+ years of hands-on experience constructing complex cloud solutions utilizing multiple AWS services, along with proficiency in Terraform and the AWS CLI or API. You should also bring a solid understanding of both SQL and NoSQL data systems, experience maintaining software within security and regulatory compliance environments like SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or HIPAA, and comfort participating in on-call support. Education required is intermediate.

This role is open to remote candidates anywhere in the United States, while Bay Area-based employees work in a hybrid setting out of the San Francisco hub. Salary is market competitive.
