Staff Design Engineer - Americas

Ashby is seeking a senior-level Staff Design Engineer - Americas to join our engineering team in the USA. This is an engineering role that genuinely requires you to both design and code, working closely with Co-Founder and VP of Engineering Abhik. We are expanding our design engineering department from five to over ten team members.

Role Responsibilities and Impact

As a Staff Design Engineer, you will tackle our most challenging design problems, enhance our in-house design system, and consult on bespoke design work for Product Engineers. Your work will directly impact a product at scale, reaching over 100,000 weekly active users, millions of candidates per week, and notable customers such as Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake.

Candidate Requirements

• Senior level experience with at least 2+ years of professional background
• Bachelor's degree education required
• Proven ability to excel in both technical implementation and UI/UX design
• Comfort with fast-paced iteration rather than relying on extensive upfront research or waiting for perfection
