Saudi Arabia End of Service Calculator 2026 (ESB)
Calculate your end-of-service benefits under the Saudi Labor Law (Articles 84 & 85). The calculator applies the half-month and full-month wage formula, pro-rates partial years, and automatically applies the resignation reductions (one-third, two-thirds, or full award) based on your service length.
The award is based on your last wage. Check your contract for what your wage includes.
Resignation reduces the award for service under 10 years (Article 85).

Resignation rules (Article 85)
If the employer ends the contract (other than for the misconduct cases in Article 80), or a fixed-term contract expires, the full award is payable regardless of service length.
Example calculation
Last wage SAR 4,000, service 7 years, terminated by employer:
- First 5 years = 5 × 0.5 × 4,000 = SAR 10,000
- Next 2 years = 2 × 1 × 4,000 = SAR 8,000
- Full award = SAR 18,000 (paid in full on termination)
- Same case with resignation at 7 years = two-thirds = SAR 12,000
Frequently asked questions
Is ESB calculated on basic salary or full wage in Saudi Arabia?
The Labor Law bases the award on the last wage. What counts as "wage" depends on your contract — in many cases it includes fixed allowances. Confirm with your HR department or the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD).
Do I get end-of-service benefits if I resign?
Yes, but reduced: one-third of the award for 2 to 5 years of service, two-thirds for 5 to 10 years, and the full award for 10 or more years. Resigning before completing 2 years pays nothing.
Do I get the full award if my employer terminates me?
Yes. If the employer ends the contract, or a fixed-term contract simply expires, the full award is payable — except in the specific misconduct cases listed in Article 80 of the Labor Law.
Are there special cases where a resigning employee gets the full award?
Yes. A female employee who resigns within six months of her marriage or within three months of giving birth is entitled to the full award, and so is an employee who leaves due to a force majeure event.
Is there a maximum limit on Saudi ESB?
No. Unlike the UAE, the Saudi Labor Law does not set a two-year salary cap — the award grows with every year of service.
Are partial years counted?
Yes. You are entitled to a pro-rata award for any fraction of a year worked, in proportion to the time spent in service.
