Associate Manager, Consumer Integrated Marketing – New Verticals Habituation

About the Team

DoorDash's Consumer Marketing team brings the company's mission to life for millions of customers: empowering local economies. The last-mile delivery tech we build doesn't just get an order to someone's door. It helps local businesses grow, and it helps the neighborhoods around those businesses do the same.

Sitting within that team is New Vertical Consumer Integrated Marketing. We're the group that connects customers to everything DoorDash does outside of restaurants: groceries, alcohol, convenience, retail. Category awareness, first-time trial, building the kind of habit that keeps someone coming back. That's our job.

One part of that team is focused specifically on Habituation. The question we're trying to answer day to day is simple to ask and hard to solve: once someone places that first grocery or alcohol order, what gets them to place a second one, and a third? We chase that answer through insight-driven storytelling, cross-channel media strategy, and close work with product and pricing teams, all aimed at retention and helping people actually see the value DoorDash offers across New Verticals.

About the Role

This role sits on the New Verticals Habituation team. You'll be helping build the strategies that turn a first-time customer into a repeat one across Grocery, Alcohol, Retail, and Convenience, working from real customer insight rather than guesswork, and turning that into go-to-market plans that run both on and off the DoorDash platform.

You'd report to the Senior Manager of Integrated Marketing. The work itself is mostly about finding habituation opportunities, testing them, and figuring out which ones are worth scaling, all in service of getting people to try new categories and growing MAU.

It's a role that draws from product marketing, growth marketing, and lifecycle strategy at once, so expect a mix of scrappy early-stage bets and bigger programs already running at scale. You'll be working alongside Marketing, Product, Strategy & Operations, Finance, and Analytics, and the strategies you help build will touch customers at pretty much every stage of the funnel.

What You'll Be Doing

Most of this comes down to ownership. You'll work with the Senior Manager to set the actual strategy and roadmap behind driving repeat engagement and getting DoorDash's value proposition across to customers in New Verticals.

From there, you're leading go-to-market planning, building full-funnel campaigns across paid, owned, earned, and in-app channels. None of that works well without understanding the customer first, so part of the job is becoming the person on the team who really gets what motivates people to reorder, and what's stopping them, then making sure those insights actually reach product and marketing decisions.

You'll also be the connective tissue across a few different functions: Brand, Creative, Retention, Performance, CRM. Campaigns rarely come together in a vacuum, so you'll be in the room with Creative, Growth, Retention, Organic Social, and Influencer teams as those initiatives take shape. And because none of this stays still for long, you'll be keeping an eye on performance metrics, what's trending culturally, and what competitors are doing, so DoorDash keeps showing up where it matters for customers.

What We're Looking For

Five-plus years of marketing experience, with real time spent in retention or product marketing within a B2C business. Corporate background or startup, either works.

You should know how brand, CRM, paid, and lifecycle marketing fit together, not just in theory but from having actually worked across organic social, brand, or paid media and seen how the pieces connect across a funnel. Ideally you've driven retention or engagement results before, through lifecycle work, growth marketing, or value-based campaigns, and you're comfortable taking a pile of data and audience insight and turning it into something a team can actually act on.

If you've built affordability or value narratives before (promotions, pricing decisions, perception-of-value work), that experience will be useful here. So will being able to get a room aligned and moving even when you don't have formal authority over the people in it.

Past the resume requirements, we're looking for someone who's curious by default, who wants to understand why something is happening before deciding what to do about it. Comfortable in ambiguity. Thinks like a GM would. Self-directed enough to take ownership without waiting to be told, and good at figuring out what actually matters when there's more to do than time to do it.

Paid marketing, SEO/SEM, or lifecycle optimization experience is a nice-to-have, not a requirement. A bachelor's degree is required.

We're aiming to fill this role by July 26, 2026.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting pay falls within a posted range, set based on things like skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and current market conditions. Base salary is localized to wherever the employee is based, and the ranges themselves may shift over time as the market does. There's also equity on the table beyond base salary, your recruiter can give you the specifics.

DoorDash also provides a full benefits package to regular employees: a 401(k) with employer matching, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, wellness benefits, a commuter benefits match, and paid time off, among other things.
