About the job
We need a Full Stack Engineer who's actually full stack — not someone who leans front-end and tolerates the backend, or vice versa. You'll be building cloud-native web systems, and you'll have a real say in how they're architected and how they scale, not just told what to build after the decisions are already made.
Worth knowing up front: this work supports applications tied to life-saving therapies, so it matters. The role is fully remote, with some travel here and there depending on what's going on.
One thing we won't compromise on — you need solid, real-world experience with both Node.js and React. This isn't the role to learn either one on the job.
What you'll actually be doing
You'll design and ship full stack applications in React and Node, and build the APIs and backend services that have to hold up once real traffic hits them. On the front end, you're building interfaces people actually want to use, wired up cleanly to the systems behind them. Code should be clean and documented well enough that the next person isn't guessing what you meant.
Testing isn't an afterthought here — you'll be writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests with Jest, Playwright, whatever fits. You'll work closely with Product, Design, and DevOps, because features that look good in isolation but don't fit the bigger picture aren't worth much.
Security and performance need to be part of how you design things from the start, not patched in later. Sometimes that means touching legacy code and modernizing it without breaking what's already working — which is its own particular skill. You'll also be expected to keep tabs on where web dev and AI-assisted tooling are heading, and show up for code reviews, sprint planning, and retros like they actually matter.
What we're looking for
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or the equivalent built through experience
Real production experience with Node.js and React — not a bootcamp project, actual shipped work
Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals, and comfort with SCSS or LESS
You've built and consumed RESTful APIs; GraphQL experience is a plus, not a requirement
Comfortable with CI/CD, cloud-native development, and containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
Worked with data layers like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis
You understand software architecture and SOLID principles, and you think about security as you go, not after
Some familiarity with observability tooling — OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, that kind of thing
A plus if you've used AI/ML tools like GitHub Copilot or the OpenAI API in your actual workflow
You can take a feature from a rough idea to something live in production, and you don't need someone holding your hand through it
