Language Services Associates is seeking candidates for an International Video Remote Interpreter internship. This remote IT role allows you to work from anywhere while utilizing advanced technology to facilitate language communication across various assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret through the web-based VRI system and answer inbound calls promptly
• Provide superior customer service and assist clients with basic troubleshooting
• Maintain compliance with licensing and certification requirements and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct
• Communicate strongly in English and the target language while maintaining attention to detail

Technical Requirements

Applicants must meet specific PC or Mac hardware and internet standards. PC requirements include Windows 8.1 or higher, an AMD A8 or Intel Core i5 processor or faster, 4GB of RAM, and 40 MB of free HDD space. Mac requirements include an Intel Core i5 (5th Gen) processor or higher, Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10 or greater, 4GB RAM, and 40MB hard drive space. Both systems require high-speed internet with a minimum of 5 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds. Additionally, interpreters need a recommended USB headset, a compatible webcam, a chroma key blue backdrop, and artificial room illumination.

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with a Windows environment, PC troubleshooting skills, experience with VRI systems, and previous interpreting background.
