Italian Accessibility Tester (Entry Level IT Job - Remote)
Welo Global brand Welocalize is seeking an entry-level Italian Accessibility Tester to join their remote network on a project basis. In this IT role, you will validate the language-specific accessibility of localized digital content, including web pages, applications, and documents, ensuring elements are functional and accurate in Italian.
Responsibilities and Testing Tasks
- Perform language validation by confirming correct language codes in HTML and PDF metadata and identifying mixed-language content lacking proper declarations.
- Conduct in-language screen reader testing using tools like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, or Narrator to review translated accessible text, tooltips, error messages, alt text, and UI labels.
- Evaluate multimedia accessibility for captions, transcripts, and audio descriptions, and confirm multimedia controls are properly labeled.
- Log findings in a structured defect log and Jira bug tracking system with WCAG/PDF-UA references, screenshots, and severity classifications.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Italian.
- Bachelors degree.
- 0 to 2 years of experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience testing digital content with assistive technology.
- Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 & 2.2 AA, EN 301 549, and PDF/UA guidelines.
- Reliable access to relevant devices and operating systems for testing.
