Lead Data Architect

Zartis is seeking a senior-level Lead Data Architect for an IT consulting project within the media sector, based in Europe. In this senior role, you will join a distributed team focused on building a new canonical data platform, taking on technical ownership of the data model from discovery through early delivery.

Core Responsibilities for the Lead Data Architect

• Lead discovery and data modelling for a new canonical data platform.
• Collaborate with business users, domain experts, and engineering teams to define requirements and the canonical data model.
• Inventory, analyse, and profile existing datasets, schemas, and legacy structures.
• Define entities, relationships, grain, semantics, measures, source-to-target mappings, and data lineage.
• Document architectural decisions, data definitions, and source-to-target mappings while identifying data quality issues.
• Work closely with data engineering teams to sequence work and turn models into implementable solutions.

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates for this IT role must possess a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience. You will need strong experience in data architecture and canonical/dimensional data modelling across complex business domains. The position also requires proven abilities in analysing and profiling complex or poorly documented legacy environments, strong SQL skills for exploring source data, and the capability to translate stakeholder requirements into clear, buildable data models.
