About Two Chairs
Mental health care in this country has a long way to go — and we're doing something about it. At Two Chairs, we're building a system that works better for clinicians and clients alike: one where care is thoughtful, outcomes actually matter, and providers feel genuinely supported in their work.
We were recognized as a 2025 Great Place to Work and landed on Fortune's Best Workplaces in Healthcare list — not because we put those things on a slide deck, but because our team tells us it's true.
What You'll Do
Day to day, your work will include:
Running 60-minute psychiatry assessments and 30-minute follow-up sessions — all via telehealth, on your own schedule within our M–F, 8am–8pm operating hours
Prescribing and managing psychiatric medications (including controlled substances) in line with state and federal guidelines
Weaving in brief psychotherapy when it's clinically the right call, helping clients get where they need to go more sustainably
Leaning on our physician partners and clinical leadership when you need backup or a second opinion — no one's expected to go it alone
Collaborating with therapists across integrated care plans, shared notes, and team consultation spaces
Using data tools and measurement-based care to keep treatment plans sharp and track what's actually working
Contributing ideas and perspectives as we keep growing and improving our psychiatry program
Who You Are
You're a strong fit for this role if you:
Hold board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
Are currently licensed to practice in New York as a PMHNP (licenses in other states are a definite plus)
Have at least 2 years of hands-on experience providing mental health services as a PMHNP
Carry an active DEA license in New York
Have real experience with telepsychiatry and feel comfortable working in a remote-first environment
Care deeply about quality of care and want to be part of a team that's always looking to improve
Are open to getting licensed in additional states down the line — we cover all costs and handle the paperwork
Can realistically start in mid-August 2026
What Success Looks Like
Your First 90 Days
You won't be thrown in at the deep end. We have a dedicated onboarding team and clinical leadership walking alongside you as you learn our systems and workflows. You'll build your caseload gradually, get comfortable collaborating with colleagues, and start contributing to how we refine our protocols.
After Your First Year
By this point, you'll have a full, stable caseload and a track record of strong clinical outcomes. You'll have put your own mark on our psychiatry program and played a real part in making mental health care more accessible for more people.
Schedule & Structure
This is a part-time W2 position, capped at 16 hours per week to start, with the chance to grow hours over time. You'll build your schedule within our M–F, 8am–8pm window — no nights, no weekends, no on-call. Roughly 75% of your time goes to direct client care, with the other 25% covering admin, supervision, and related work.
A few other things worth knowing:
Paid administrative time is built in — documentation doesn't follow you home
Your clients are covered when you're away, so you can actually take time off
A 24/7 crisis line handles urgent risk assessments and in-person intervention coordination if needed
Compensation
Pay is hourly and depends on your experience, qualifications, and where you live:

After that, you shift to a guaranteed base (80% of your hourly rate) plus an incentive tied to clinical productivity and psychotherapy integration
Administrative time, clinical consultations, trainings, and no-shows are all compensated
Annual merit increases based on performance
