About This Role

This is a part-time (.50 FTE) telehealth clinician position embedded within our General Internal Medicine primary care practice. You'll report to the Director of Integrated Behavioral Health and be responsible for delivering short-term, evidence-based therapy and supportive counseling to a targeted patient population — all conducted remotely.

What that actually looks like day-to-day: identifying patients who meet criteria for clinic-based behavioral health services, completing psychosocial assessments, building treatment plans that genuinely reflect each patient's goals, and moving people through to a clear discharge plan. It's not open-ended long-term therapy — it's focused, structured, and collaborative work within a primary care setting.

You'll also be the safety net when something urgent comes up. If a patient presents with an acute behavioral health need, you're the one ensuring they're connected to the right level of care — quickly and thoughtfully.

This is an open-rank faculty position, meaning it can be filled at the Instructor, Senior Instructor, or Assistant Professor level, depending on your experience and qualifications.

What You'll Be Doing

Working in a telehealth format, you'll partner closely with both the GIM behavioral health team and the broader primary care clinic staff — including attending physicians, nurses, and clinic leadership. Your caseload will be defined, your referrals will be supported, and your work will be coordinated rather than siloed.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:


Delivering integrated behavioral health services via telehealth in partnership with clinic stakeholders
Conducting thorough initial assessments and creating individualized treatment and discharge plans for short-term behavioral health treatment
Stepping in for crisis support when urgent behavioral health needs arise, and connecting those patients to appropriate next steps
Adjusting treatment plans based on input from the interdisciplinary team and the patient's primary care provider — this is a team sport
Tracking patient progress in a routine, structured way
Managing referral coordination, including for patients who don't meet the criteria for clinic-based services
Helping build out community and campus referral resources when gaps are identified
Collaborating with scheduling staff to keep referral placement running smoothly

This is a fully remote position, though you must be located within the United States. No relocation required.

Qualifications

This is an open-rank position. The level of appointment will depend on your credentials and experience.

Instructor Level

If you're a Psychologist:


Doctorate from an APA-approved program (or equivalent)
Active Colorado Psychologist license
At least 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience with adults


If you're an LCSW or LPC:


Master's degree in a field relevant to your licensure
Current Colorado LCSW or LPC license
At least 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience with adults
