Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Money Movement) in Anywhere
Phantom is seeking a Senior Level IT professional for a remote Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Money Movement) role to design, maintain, and evolve the backend services and APIs that connect Phantom Cash to blockchains. Phantom is a fully remote team of around 180 people, backed by a $150M Series C investment from a16z, Sequoia Capital, and Paradigm, with an app that has reached #1 in Google Play's finance category.
Key Responsibilities and Background
- Blend systems thinking with product pragmatism and a passion for crypto to make Phantom Cash dependable, seamless, and ready to scale.
- Manage client-server architecture alongside blockchain protocols, balancing reliability, quality, and speed.
- Communicate clearly across pods, document rigorously, and elevate the engineering bar through execution and mentorship.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or have equivalent practical experience.
- Bring 5+ years of experience along with a pragmatic, results-driven engineering mindset focused on user impact.
- Demonstrate expertise in Node.js and NestJS at scale, event-driven design, REST API architecture, full-stack state management, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, AWS ops, CI/CD, observability, and on-call ownership.
- Hands-on background in crypto or fintech, including exchanges, wallets, payment rails, or ledgers.
- Understanding of smart contracts, protocols, and blockchain integration with a preference for Solana or EVM.
