Senior Software Engineer (Full-stack Node + React) in LATAM

Airtm, a financial-infrastructure company empowering digital entrepreneurs in the Global South, is hiring a remote Senior Software Engineer (Full-stack Node + React) for its IT team in LATAM. This senior-level role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated full-stack range across backend services and frontend UIs. The compensation is market competitive.

Role Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for production services
  • Proficiency in React for production-facing UIs
  • Experience designing and building REST or GraphQL APIs
  • Understanding of relational databases like PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging patterns
  • Hands-on experience in a microservices environment

You will work within an autonomous product pod to design, build, and evolve full-stack systems powering Airtm's financial products, using AI-assisted development tools fluently in your daily workflow. Responsibilities include leading technical design, building TypeScript/Node.js microservices and React UIs, driving project delivery, conducting code reviews, mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, collaborating across pods, participating in on-call rotations, and managing technical debt.
