Senior Systems Engineer

UpGuard is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join their Engineering team in Australia. In this senior-level role, you will build, operate, and strategically evolve the technology platform that enables the organization to work securely and efficiently, backed by a salary of $1500.

Senior Systems Engineer Responsibilities in Australia

This position focuses on platform engineering, ownership, and automation rather than traditional IT support queues. You will own the administration and optimization of core IT infrastructure, identity systems, endpoint engineering, and SaaS platforms while establishing secure-by-default standards.

• Drive end-to-end shared platform ownership across Google Workspace, Okta, and enterprise MDM for macOS and ChromeOS fleets.
• Take operational ownership of the Cloudflare Zero Trust environment, managing ZTNA, DNS filtering, and identity-aware access policies.
• Build production-grade internal tooling using Python, REST APIs, Apps Script, and n8n to automate repetitive tasks and eliminate manual workflows.
• Manage incident response on a rota, conduct root cause investigations, and maintain accurate runbooks and documentation.
• Enforce zero-touch provisioning, endpoint compliance, and baseline security configurations.
