Lead Economic Development for Meta’s Data Center Infrastructure

Meta is looking for a senior-level Data Center Economic Development Manager to join our infrastructure team in the USA. This role is central to how we design, build, and operate our high-performance data centers. As we continue to scale our capacity, we need an experienced leader to oversee the complex economic development initiatives that ensure our site selection processes remain efficient and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead economic development projects for new data center site selection and the expansion of existing locations.
• Perform comprehensive diligence on economic development programs and state and local tax structures.
• Partner with legal, site selection, finance, and construction teams to negotiate economic development agreements with government entities and agencies.
• Interface across internal departments—including accounting, tax, and design—to align project parameters with broader economic goals.
• Manage internal staff and external consultants while representing the company’s interests before government officials and economic development personnel.

Requirements and Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of 15 years of experience specifically focused on state and local taxes and economic incentives. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Economics, or Public Policy, alongside a strong background in contract negotiation, financial analysis, and project management.

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate precise communication skills and a proven ability to lead high-stakes negotiations. Additionally, the role requires a demonstrated commitment to responsible AI practices, including risk assessment and bias mitigation. You should have experience integrating AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable efficiency, as well as evidence of ongoing skill development in emerging technologies such as prompt engineering and agent orchestration.
