Upstart is hiring a Director, Compliance & Control Oversight - Growth to join our Unsecured Consumer Lending team. This is a senior management role based in the USA, focused on leading first-line compliance for the acquisition channels, marketing programs, and product launches that drive our platform's growth.
In this role, you will act as a key partner to our Growth, Product, Marketing, and ML teams, ensuring that compliance and controls are built into our processes from the design phase forward. You will be responsible for translating complex regulatory requirements—such as UDAAP, Regulation B, CAN-SPAM, and TCPA—into practical guidance for channel launches and partner agreements. Your work will involve maintaining our business control framework, approving marketing materials, and conducting root cause analysis for any growth-related compliance matters, including complaints or disclosure errors.
