Data Engineer

Oddball is seeking an Entry Level Data Engineer for a remote IT position within the USA to build and maintain the data infrastructure powering a cloud-based case management system for a major federal financial regulatory agency. This role offers a salary of $100,000 to $140,000.

Data Engineer Responsibilities

In this role, you will build and maintain data marts, materialized views, and data pipelines within an AWS-hosted Data Lake environment. You will design, build, and optimize data workflows to support agency-wide analytics, monitor data infrastructure health, troubleshoot performance and data quality issues, collaborate with stakeholders to scale new initiatives, and support compliance with federal data security requirements including FISMA and NIST 800-53.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 0 to 2 years of experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with large-scale data infrastructure on AWS, including data services and cloud-based data infrastructure.
• Experience building and maintaining data marts, materialized views, or ETL/ELT pipelines, as well as maintaining and migrating PostgreSQL relational database environments.
• Experience maintaining structured and unstructured data, alongside an understanding of federal data security and governance.
• Ability to thrive in a remote, collaborative Agile environment with strong communication skills.
