RevenueCat is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer in IT to join our remote-first team operating across the USA, Canada, LATAM, and EMEA. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will help design, build, ship, and support end-to-end features and products that empower developers to grow their mobile subscription businesses.
What You Will Bring
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer designing and maintaining complex, large, and growing systems
- Comfort writing and debugging SQL, along with a passion for root-cause debugging in production
- An excellent command of at least one mainstream programming language
- Experience shipping high-quality code using robust testing practices in iterative cycles
- Strong communication skills tailored for a fully remote culture, plus a proactive, versatile, and fast-learning mindset
- Bonus experience: Python, PostgreSQL, building SDKs, shipping a mobile app with in-app purchases, and React or SPA applications
- A Bachelor's degree
Your First Year Roadmap
- First Month: Onboard with your team and mentor, set up your development environment, ship your first project, and learn RevenueCat's tooling, architecture, and workflows.
- First 3 Months: Scope and execute projects independently, join the on-call rotation, participate in code reviews, and understand your team's products and codebases.
- First 6 Months: Review code, author proposals, contribute to architectural discussions and the team roadmap, and ship a major product or feature.
- First 12 Months: Master major system components, drive your own improvement initiatives, architect medium-to-large projects with rollout plans, and mentor incoming engineers.
