Senior Backend Engineer - IT Roles in the USA

Gremlin, the industry leader in Chaos Engineering and reliability testing, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a senior-level IT role based in the USA. This remote position offers a salary range of $220,000 to $290,000, supplemented by 401k matching, equity, flexible time off, and paid company holidays. Please note that this role does not offer employment visa sponsorship.

In this position, you will develop Chaos Engineering tooling to help major organizations proactively monitor, test, and automate their system reliability. You will collaborate with product managers and engineers to design technical solutions, present tradeoffs, build new features, and mentor teammates.

Requirements and Background

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of professional Java software engineering experience
• Experience in Go and systems-level programming
• Cloud technology experience with AWS, Lambda, Serverless, or similar platforms like Google or Oracle
• Experience with DynamoDB, NoSQL, or major relational databases
• Infrastructure and systems-level experience using Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
• Background in architecting complex distributed systems and integrating with external systems
• Strong advocacy for automated testing, CI/CD, and engineering best practices

Additional bonus experience includes participating in incident management programs, familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks like React and TypeScript, and taking features from concept to full production release.
