Senior IT Architect (m/w/d)

virtual7 GmbH is seeking a Senior IT Architect (m/w/d) for an Architecture project based in Bonn, with options for Homeoffice and remote work within Germany. This senior-level role runs from November 2, 2026, to December 31, 2026, with a possible extension for 2027. The project requires a work mix of 30 days remote and 5 days on-site, fluent German as the project language, and the willingness to undergo an SÜ2 security clearance according to § 9 SÜG (Geheim/Sabotageschutz).

Your Mission as Senior IT Architect in Bonn

You will support the further development of a cloud environment by designing and building a central software repository. Initial focus will be on the OpenSource Cloud Stack, aiming to develop concepts and Proof of Concepts for "any software on any platform" and designing functional and load tests in the cloud. Your responsibilities include analyzing requirements, designing system components and interfaces, creating containerization plans, conducting architecture reviews, and ensuring performance, security, and scalability.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of general professional experience
• At least 3 years of experience with Kubernetes applications
• 3+ years of experience analyzing and evaluating legacy software for cloud migration
• 3+ years of experience with requirements analysis and system design of air gap container repositories
• 3+ years of experience designing test scenarios for migrated legacy software in cloud target platforms
• 3+ years of experience with code version control and GIT, plus practical DevOps or DevSecOps experience
• 3+ years of experience in the Linux environment and diagnosing production enterprise infrastructures
• Nice-to-haves: UML modeling and ADM
