Senior Manager Cost Optimization - Building System (Process & Industrialization focus) (all genders)

GROPYUS is currently seeking a Senior Manager Cost Optimization - Building System (Process & Industrialization focus) (all genders) for a senior-level management position in Berlin, Berlin. In this role, you will drive cost competitiveness across innovative prefabricated timber building systems, working at the intersection of product development, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and construction.

Core Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of the Building Systems Cost Optimization strategy to ensure value creation across the product portfolio.
• Apply design-to-cost, should-cost, value engineering, and target-costing methodologies across departments.
• Identify, analyze, and prioritize cost optimization opportunities for building systems, components, materials, and construction interfaces.
• Develop and maintain transparent cost models and benchmarks, comparing estimated versus actual cost performance.
• Drive cross-functional cost optimization initiatives and partner with Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Construction, and R&D teams.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must possess intermediate education and 5+ years of experience in cost engineering, product costing, value engineering, industrial engineering, operational excellence, or cost optimization within advanced industrial environments such as automotive, aviation, shipbuilding, lean manufacturing, or high-volume production. Candidates need a strong track record in applying Lean Manufacturing principles, delivering measurable cost reductions, and translating technical solutions into financial outcomes. Fluent English language skills and a willingness to undertake usual business travel between sites are required. Experience with industrialized construction, modular building systems, prefabricated housing, timber construction, German-speaking construction markets, digital costing tools, and fluent German language skills are nice-to-have.
