Senior Software Engineer in Foster City, CA
Zuora is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their IT team in Foster City, CA. This hybrid role requires working onsite three days per week and offers a salary of $164,800. Zuora provides a platform powering modern business models, and this position focuses on architecting and scaling the Agentic Deal Desk product.
Role Requirements and Technical Background
- Master’s degree required.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in modern Java (17+), JVM internals, concurrency models, Spring Boot, and cloud-native distributed architecture.
- Deep experience building LLM infrastructure, including agent loops, state-machine tracking, tool calling systems, context window management, and structured output parsing.
- Practical background with agentic frameworks and AI tooling such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, LlamaIndex, or custom orchestration runtimes and vector databases.
- Strong foundation in event-driven architecture, caching, relational databases, and API design, alongside cloud and runtime security experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience includes AWS Agentic Enablement, serverless agent scaffolding, and AWS AI Observability and evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build and own the core agent harness layer, design safe tool-execution runtimes, and engineer context and memory management pipelines. You will also build feedback sensors to enforce margin guardrails, design low-latency Core Java microservices, and provide technical leadership by setting standards and mentoring senior engineers.
