Senior Software Engineer - Workflow

Cloudbeds is seeking a remote Senior Software Engineer - Workflow to join their IT team in the USA and LATAM. In this senior-level IT role, you will design, build, and operate backend product capabilities using PHP and Java to support complex hospitality operations across the globe. The position offers a salary range of $130,000 to $175,000.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Working within the Workflow Squad, you will take ownership of technical design, development, and production operations for APIs, data models, integrations, and event-driven services. The team operates with an AI-first mindset, using Claude Code as a default starting point for implementation while maintaining rigorous standards for code quality, testing, and production support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production applications
• Strong proficiency in PHP and/or Java
• Solid understanding of relational data modeling, PostgreSQL, API design, distributed systems, and asynchronous architecture
• Experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems, REST, and gRPC

Applicants should be prepared to handle end-to-end ownership of application code, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate closely with product, design, security, and infrastructure partners.
