Senior Web Security Engineer, Browser Platform - Anywhere

DuckDuckGo, the online protection company with a remote-first team of over 300, is hiring a Senior Web Security Engineer, Browser Platform for a senior-level driving role. In this position, you will join the Security Functional Team to protect users across Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android by matching security capabilities with rapid product development, including expanding AI offerings like Duck.ai and agentic browsing.

Your responsibilities will include hardening agentic browsing and DuckAI experiences against emerging threats such as prompt injection, conducting security audits for browsers and sync features, executing SERP security mitigations, and building automated security fix harnesses. You will also manage application security scanning infrastructure, execute internal red-team operations, and support security triage.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelors degree
• 7+ years of experience in web or application security, including vulnerability research, penetration testing, secure code review, or security assessments
• Recent experience creating security-focused agentic harnesses
• Experience influencing large feature designs to incorporate security from the start
• Advanced programming or scripting experience with JavaScript, plus familiarity with additional stack technologies such as Swift, Kotlin, C#, Perl, or Go
• Experience with at least one WebView technology and a strong understanding of browser security models
• Hands-on experience identifying and exploiting web vulnerabilities and using security testing tools
• Experience partnering with Product Engineers to advise on security and drive best practices across teams

The compensation for this remote position is $178,500 USD annually along with stock options, with transparent pay structures across the organization.
