Software Architect

Autodesk is seeking a senior-level Software Architect for its IT and engineering operations in the UK (EMEA). This senior individual-contributor role within the AEC Data organization focuses on defining cloud-native services and distributed-systems architecture rather than data warehousing or analytics.

In this position, you will shape how multiple teams design and build by establishing standards, reference architectures, architecture decision records (ADRs), and design-review governance. Your work will directly support the AEC Data Model (AECDM), the Autodesk Forma Industry Cloud, and connected construction platforms spanning products like Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

• API & System Architecture: Design and evolve API surfaces, resource modeling, versioning, query APIs, and cross-team cloud-native distributed systems with event-driven flows.
• Schema Design: Build, document, and evolve semantic data schemas, property sets, relationship hierarchies, validation rules, and the schema registry.
• Governance & Prototyping: Run cross-team design reviews, author ADRs for an architecture council, and evaluate architectural directions through prototyping.
• Leadership & Operations: Mentor engineers, drive observability and SLOs for system reliability and performance, and communicate architecture using C4 diagrams and executive narratives.
