Software Developer

D2L, a cloud company focused on modernizing education and transforming how the world learns, is seeking an Entry Level Software Developer for an IT role in Canada. This position fills an existing vacancy at the organization, which has spent 25 years building next-generation learning environments and cloud solutions.

Role and Impact

In this Software Developer position, you will work on a wide range of technologies including distributed systems, user interfaces, mobile, and cloud computing. Beyond writing code, you will collaborate closely with technical product managers, designers, and quality assurance teams to help advance D2L's goal of improving human potential globally through technology.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in software development, preferably in a technology-focused company.
• Ability to analyze and decompose problems into potential technical solutions.
• Experience with object-oriented design and proficient coding skills in languages such as C++, C#, or Java.
• Strong understanding of computer science topics including data structures, algorithms, databases, and distributed systems.
• Acumen with artificial intelligence tools.

Work Environment and Compensation

D2L operates in a hybrid work style with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office. The starting base salary for this role is $70,000 CAD, with a broader base salary range extending up to $105,000 CAD depending on relevant knowledge, skills, education, training, and experience.
