Role Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and evolve backend APIs, services, event-driven workflows, data models, and caching strategies supporting millions of users.
• Lead ambiguous technical initiatives by breaking down problems, assessing risks, and guiding teams toward clear execution.
• Debug complex production issues across application code, databases, caches, queues, and observability tooling.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Infrastructure, Platform, and Data teams to deliver durable backend systems.
• Mentor engineers, give and receive constructive feedback, and articulate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements for the Staff Backend Engineer Position

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and bring 5+ years of experience. You will need strong Node expertise, staff-level backend engineering depth in high-scale distributed systems, and a strong command of backend technologies such as Node, TypeScript, Elixir, Ruby/Rails, Java, Go, or Python.
