Launch Potato is seeking a remote-first Senior Level IT professional for a Staff Data Scientist, Marketing role based in Canada. In this hands-on, in-the-weeds applied data science position, you will own the full data science engine for a priority vertical—initially focusing on Insurance and Advertiser Quality—with your primary metric being ROAS.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelors degree required
• 5+ years of hands-on, in-the-weeds applied data science experience delivering measurable business impact
• Proven background in digital marketing, performance marketing, or the leadgen industry
• Expert proficiency in Python and SQL
• Multi-year, hands-on experience building and deploying ML solutions in the AWS cloud
• Strong modeling fundamentals focused on driving business impact
• Hands-on experience in core techniques including multi-armed bandit / reinforcement learning, recommendation and ranking systems, funnel and monetization optimization, and LTV modeling
• Experience building adtech algorithms and supporting user acquisition or paid media modeling is highly desired

What You Will Do

You will frame business problems directly with stakeholders, build and validate models, partner with ML engineering for the deployment last mile, and stay engaged through live ROAS performance analysis. Responsibilities include owning the Insurance vertical's primary modeling work end-to-end, delivering buying models that maintain positive ROAS and quality, driving lead quality improvements across brands, establishing direct partnerships with business stakeholders, producing validated and documented output, and identifying net-new modeling opportunities.
