Senior Analytics Engineer - Canada
Reddit is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join its Consumer Data Science organization in Canada. Supporting a platform that reaches over 126 million daily visitors across more than 100,000 active communities, this senior-level engineering role sits directly between data science and data engineering. You will build and maintain the core data infrastructure and tooling that the Consumer side of the business relies on for feature tracking, retention analysis, and A/B testing.
Core Responsibilities & Impact
- Take ownership of Consumer data collection, structure, and usage by developing reliable ETLs, dashboards, and aggregations in close partnership with engineering.
- Build tools that prioritize consistency and automation, helping other teams answer their own data questions independently.
- Mentor fellow data scientists and technical partners while serving as a sounding board for leadership on future data foundations.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience building and maintaining large-scale ETL systems with clean, production-grade code, with Python preferred.
- A quantitative degree in a field such as statistics, computer science, applied math, economics, or physics.
- Comfort working across Python, SQL, Spark, and Scala, alongside a solid grasp of relational and MPP database design and data modeling patterns for structured and unstructured data at scale.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical partners.
- Familiarity with workflow tools like Airflow, a background in software engineering, and visualization design skills are considered beneficial pluses.
