Backend Engineer - Mid Level - Autopilot Team in Berlin, Chemnitz, Dresden
Staffbase is looking for a Mid Level IT Backend Engineer to join the Autopilot team in Berlin, Brandenburg, Chemnitz, Sachsen, or Dresden, Sachsen. In this role, you will help build the automation and agent layer for the Staffbase platform, enabling customers to configure event-driven, rule-based, and agentic workflows.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve RESTful web services, including utilizing and integrating LLMs, with some involvement in web-based clients.
- Work in a cross-functional Scrum team to produce high-quality, tested code and push updates iteratively using a strong CI/CD pipeline.
- Participate in code reviews and architectural advisory forums to share knowledge and give feedback.
- Use AI coding tools to move faster while maintaining full ownership of design and code quality.
Requirements
- Education required: Bachelors.
- Experience required: 2-4 years of experience as a Backend Engineer.
- Proficiency in Go, Java/Kotlin, and relational databases like Postgres or NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
- Familiarity with Docker, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Prometheus, or Grafana, alongside a solid understanding of REST and Microservices.
- Strong problem-solving skills, good English communication capabilities, and a commitment to clean, well-tested code.
