Senior Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/*)

About the Role

Peregrine Technologies GmbH, based in Berlin, is transforming cameras into intelligent devices to enhance road safety and urban mobility while maintaining privacy. We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to own the design, training, and deployment of the computer vision models that power our products. This IT role sits at the intersection of research and production, requiring you to turn advanced vision techniques into reliable systems that operate on resource-constrained edge hardware.

Your primary objective is to develop vision pipelines—from data ingestion through to production inference—that achieve single-digit millisecond latency without relying on cloud dependencies. You will apply model compression techniques such as quantization, pruning, and knowledge distillation, while also developing synthetic data and domain adaptation pipelines to bridge the sim-to-real gap.

Required Qualifications and Technical Skills

To be considered for this position, you must hold a Master’s degree and have 5+ years of relevant industry experience. We are looking for a candidate with the following technical expertise:

• Languages: Advanced proficiency in C++ for production-grade edge deployment and Python for research and data analysis.
• Frameworks & Tools: Extensive experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow/Keras, alongside mastery of inference acceleration using TensorRT, ONNX, and OpenVINO.
• Edge AI: Proven ability to port and optimize models for local, resource-constrained hardware and build custom network topologies.
• System Architecture: Experience designing privacy-by-design systems that ensure data sovereignty and GDPR compliance.
