Laminar Projects is seeking a senior-level Commercial Manager (Construction) in the UK to join Shape, a specialized construction SaaS platform designed to stop margin leakage, manage change, and resolve disputes. This unique senior role allows you to step away from traditional contracting and use your industry expertise to help other construction businesses protect their profits.

Key Responsibilities for the Commercial Manager (Construction) in the UK

• Consult with commercial leaders to identify profit loss from unmanaged change and disputes, demonstrating how Shape stops margin leakage.
• Support customer adoption to ensure site and office teams capture changes and claims consistently.
• Coach clients on building defensible records to strengthen claims and defend disputes.
• Serve as the internal commercial voice to shape product development based on real-world project realities.
• Share best practices across the customer base to improve industry-wide standards.

Requirements and Background

Applicants must hold a Primary or Matric education level and possess 5+ years of significant experience as a Commercial Manager or in a similar construction role. You should have a deep understanding of how poor records erode project profitability, strong communication skills to win trust, strategic thinking abilities, and a drive to make an industry-wide impact. Additional experience with SaaS platforms, stakeholder consulting, and leading workshops is considered a plus.
