Director Sales Europe Clinical Microbiology

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Director Sales Europe Clinical Microbiology to oversee commercial growth across France, Germany, Italy, and the UK. This senior-level sales position focuses on the Microbiology Division (MBD), requiring a leader capable of driving profitable revenue and executing commercial strategies within a complex, matrixed organization.

Key Responsibilities

As the Director of Sales, you will report to the Senior Sales Director and manage multi-tiered regional teams. Your primary objective is to accelerate new business opportunities and manage the full portfolio for the clinical segment. You will be responsible for meticulous sales pipeline management, P&L oversight, and the ongoing coaching and development of your team. This role requires an in-depth understanding of customer workflows and the ability to collaborate with business units and divisional functional leaders to ensure sales goals are met. Please note that this position involves 40-60% travel.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following:

• A Masters degree, preferably in Life Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, or a business-related field.
• At least 12 years of commercial experience in the life sciences, healthcare, or scientific instruments industry.
• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in sales leadership and people management roles.
• Proven experience in P&L management, CRM systems, sales analytics, and managing distributor or channel partnerships.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities in English (additional languages are beneficial).
