Engineering Manager - Canada

Ashby is seeking a senior-level Engineering Manager - Canada to join their engineering team on a remote basis in Canada. This senior leadership opportunity places you directly inside a high-growth company with tens of millions in ARR, backing from notable customers like Shopify, Notion, Linear, and Snowflake, and an impressive year-over-year growth rate exceeding 100%.

Role Requirements and Background

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ or more years of professional experience.
• A background as a former engineer who has built impressive products and now focuses on building and leading teams of great engineers.

What You Will Do

Working closely with co-founder and VP of Engineering Abhik, Ben, Colin, and your peers, you will help double the engineering team over the next year. You will initially manage three to five engineers across specializations ranging from Product and Design Engineers to Site Reliability Engineers, while also hiring three to five more. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve coaching individual contributors on product and technical specs, helping engineers deliver loosely defined projects independently, and occasionally diving into the codebase to debug issues or ship small bug fixes. You will also lead department and company-wide initiatives such as improving PR reviews and designing better interview processes.
