Engineering Manager, SRE Position Details

This role is split as 60% individual contributor and 40% leadership. You will lead the SRE team responsible for Kubernetes, AWS, PostgreSQL, CI infrastructure, and the company's observability stack. Responsibilities include owning the career development of your direct reports, steering team focus against company goals, and balancing operational load with project delivery while maintaining enough technical depth to guide incident response.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience.
• Demonstrated people leadership managing growth, performance, and career progression in SRE, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Hands-on technical background in site reliability, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, AWS at scale, and hands-on AI building or infrastructure scaling.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, CI/CD systems like GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or Jenkins, Docker, and shell scripting.
• History of running reliability practices such as SLOs, error budgets, incident response, and working in regulated environments.

Additional Qualifications

Candidates with a working knowledge of backend languages like Elixir, Java, Clojure, Node.js, or Python, as well as depth in modern observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and Honeycomb, are preferred.
