Head of Accounting & Tax (f/m/x)

Enpal is hiring a Head of Accounting & Tax (f/m/x) for its fintech subsidiary EFS based in Berlin. This senior level accounting role places you at the heart of an organization specializing in the financing of decentralized energy solutions, such as photovoltaic systems and heat pumps.

Responsibilities of the Head of Accounting & Tax in Berlin

• Own monthly and annual closing processes for EFS, ensuring reliable HGB and IFRS financial reporting and IFRS adjustments.
• Translate business plans into budgets and forecasts alongside Enpal Group Finance.
• Oversee accounting for factoring, leasing transactions, receivables, financing arrangements, asset transfers, SPVs, and securitisation structures.
• Coordinate corporate tax and VAT compliance with external advisors, plus manage internal and external audits.
• Drive process automation, build scalable structures, and develop team functions while acting as a key finance partner to management.

Requirements and Background

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a comparable field, backed by 5+ years of relevant experience in audit, financial reporting, or group accounting. You should possess strong IFRS and HGB knowledge, familiarity with corporate tax and VAT compliance, and direct experience in factoring, leasing, financial services, lending, or asset-finance environments. Fluency in English is required, while strong German skills are preferred. Big Four audit background, experience with SPVs, or familiarity with core banking systems are considered advantageous extras.
