Tailscale is seeking a full-time, entry-level Infrastructure Engineer to join its fully distributed engineering team. Based in the UK, this remote engineering role comes with a starting base salary of £128,770, with a UK pay range extending up to £161,160 GBP, alongside equity and comprehensive benefits.

Role Overview

In this position, you will support internal business units by building shared engineering services, tools, and processes. You will own projects end-to-end, collaborate with product engineering on data extraction for business decisions, and work directly with internal customer-facing teams. Example deliverables include improving observability via metrics, alerting, logging, and telemetry; building Continuous Deployment improvements; utilizing infrastructure as code in a cloud environment; automating upgrades for managed services and VMs; and collaborating on cross-functional infrastructure improvements. You will also design, build, test, and document core software components while participating in incident response and system scalability improvements.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 0 to 2 years of relevant experience
• Experience with CI/CD, secrets management, infrastructure as code, and observability
• Experience with distributed systems and operating managed services in a cloud environment, preferably AWS
• Familiarity with networks, including IP addressing and routing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and give or process constructive feedback
• Experience with Kubernetes in production, Go programming, and startup environments are strong pluses
