Manager, Safety Analytics in USA
Discord is seeking a senior-level Manager, Safety Analytics to lead the Scaled Abuse Countermeasures and Research (SCAR) team in the USA. In this management role, you will oversee a team focused on detecting, analyzing, and disrupting high-volume threats to safeguard platform integrity across Discord's gaming community.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor data analysts, scientists, and researchers investigating active threats and platform abuse vectors.
- Define strategic roadmaps to prioritize and disrupt high-impact abuse operations through research and experimentation.
- Collaborate with safety machine learning teams to improve automated countermeasures and threat signals.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Policy, Legal, and Revenue teams.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 2+ years of people management experience leading technical teams such as engineers or data scientists.
- 4+ years of experience in a Trust & Safety domain working with fraud, spam, scams, or account compromise.
- Fluency in SQL and/or Python for data investigation and pattern analysis.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills with expertise in measurement and experimentation.
- Bachelor's degree required (or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative field).
Compensation and Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $220,000 to $275,000, plus equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
