Principal Engineer - Autonomous Systems (m/f/d) in Munich

Autonomous Teaming Solutions is seeking a Senior Level Principal Engineer for an Engineering role based in Munich (DEU). This position requires working 5 days on-site in an international, agile team building next-generation autonomous robotic systems for demanding real-world environments.

Role and Technical Responsibilities

In this senior engineering position, you will take end-to-end technical ownership of a mission-critical robotics product where perception, system performance, and reliability directly impact operational success. You will have full technical authority and act as the tiebreaker on technical decisions across all subsystems, with direct contact to customers and company leadership.

• Own complex autonomous systems end-to-end, from architecture to field deployment.
• Build solutions hands-on in the code every day alongside your team.
• Cut non-essential elements to prioritize milestones and test in the field with clear pass/fail criteria.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelors degree.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Citizenship of a NATO member country or close ally.
• Proven track record of building real systems, products, or projects with real users.
• Deep knowledge in real-time embedded systems, sensor fusion, or perception.
• Proficiency in C++ and ROS2 under a latency budget.
• Experience taking hardware and software solutions from zero to running production.
