Robotics Software Engineer Intern – Swarm Systems (m/f/d) in Munich

autonomous-teaming is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer Intern – Swarm Systems (m/f/d) for a full-time IT internship in Munich, Germany. This 3 to 6-month hands-on role places you inside an international, agile team building autonomous robotic systems and coordinated multi-UAV networks.

You will focus on software tooling, simulation, and system observability, alongside contributing to estimation, perception, planning, control, or mission execution. Responsibilities include building data-driven dashboards, extending simulation frameworks with automated scenarios, analyzing field-test data, and validating software on real robotic platforms.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Autonomous Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Good programming skills in C++, ideally modern C++ (17/20), with a solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and software engineering
• Basic understanding of robotics concepts such as coordinate frames, sensor data, estimation, planning, or control
• Comfortable working in Linux
• NATO-aligned nationality or close ally citizenship is required

While prior professional experience is not required, familiarity with ROS/ROS 2, real hardware, simulation frameworks like Gazebo or Isaac Sim, SLAM, and multi-agent systems is considered a strong plus.
