GALVANY is hiring a (Senior) Backend Engineer (m/w/d) for their IT team in Berlin to help build an AI-based Operating System driving the green energy transition. As a profitable green-tech startup backed by €10 million in seed funding secured in spring 2026, the organization develops smart solutions for heat pumps, battery storage, and smart metering.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust, event-driven architectures using Go and Kafka.
- Develop high-performance APIs and data integrations connecting platforms to physical devices and external markets.
- Integrate LLMs and machine learning models into backend services.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for services from design and testing to deployment and observability.
- Build automation solutions utilizing workflow engines and low-code platforms alongside custom code.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar relevant field.
- 3+ years of experience in high-performance environments such as fast-scaling startups or top-tier consulting.
- Proven end-to-end responsibility in software engineering or infrastructure/DevOps from ideation to release.
- Strong coding skills with proficiency in Go, plus familiarity with event-driven architecture and AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
